Course Description
Early defibrillation saves lives. The primary obstacle for early defibrillation is getting the defibrillator and a trained operator to the victim within a few minutes. The Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is a major step forward in emergency cardiac care because it can be used effectively by personnel with minimal training. The use of the AED expands the range of rescuers with the ability to make early defibrillation a reality.
The Heartsaver/AED course is designed to teach integrated CPR and AED use. The course teaches CPR, use of the AED, and relief of a foreign body airway obstruction. This course involves multiple learning activities including PowerPoint presentations, a videotaped overview of AED use, skill demonstration and practice and formal evaluation of knowledge and skills.
Course length: 4 hours
Cost: $60 per person. Group discounts available.
