Course Description
The BLS Health Care Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims
of all ages (including doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask
device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED);
and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It's intended for
participants who provide heath care to patients in a wide variety of settings,
including in-hospital and out-of-hospital.
Intended Audience
Health care providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency
medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational
therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or
nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police
officers, and other allied health personnel.
Course Length: 4.5 hours
Written/Skills Exam: Required for course completion card

Course Description
The ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate
and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular
tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage
10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest
(simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of prearrest
emergencies (bradychardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and
acute coronary syndromes) and stroke.
Intended Audience
Personnel staffing emergency, intensive care or critical care departments;
emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency technicians,
paramedics, respiratory therapists and other professionals who may respond
to a cardiovascular emergency.
Course Length: 16 hours of instruction for the entry
level course and eight hours for the recertification course
Written/Skills Exam: Required for course completion card

Course Description
The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide the
learner with:
- Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for
cardiopulmonary arrest.
- Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest
in infants and children.
- The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize
infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary
arrest.
Intended Audience
Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses,
paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other health care providers who
are responsible for the well-being of infants and children.
Course Length: 16 hours of instruction for the entry
level course and six hours for the recertification class

This four-hour
program targets new parents and grandparents, but any and all individuals
who are caring for children from birth to eight years of age are strongly
encouraged to attend. This course is conducted by specialists in Pediatric
Emergency Care and covers the following topics:
- Choking: how can we prevent it and what to do when it occurs
- How to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- What is SIDS?
- Child safety, accident prevention and childproofing your home and
what to do in drowning situations.
Cost: $50.00 per person or $80.00 per couple.
