Q. How far in advance are appointments scheduled?
A. Appointments for an executive physical are scheduled at least two weeks
in advance. You can schedule an appointment by calling toll free (877) 420-4209
or (212) 420-2882, or by e-mailing occumed@chpnet.org.
We will do all we can to accommodate you. We also ask that when making an
appointment, you let us know if you desire any additional consultations.
Q. How do I cancel an appointment?
A. If you need to cancel or reschedule your exam, please call us 48 hours
prior to your original appointment.
Q. Is your program covered by health insurance?
A. Health insurance does not cover the Executive Health Program. Payment
can be arranged by employers (via contractual agreement) or by individuals
at the time of service. We accept personal checks, VISA and MasterCard.
Q. How long does the comprehensive medical history/physical
take?
A. Evaluations usually last three to six hours, depending on tests conducted.
Q. Will I receive an itinerary for the day?
A. Yes, you will receive a schedule for everything that will occur on
the day of your physical.
Q. Can my spouse also make an appointment at the Executive Health
Program?
A. Yes. Family members and friends are welcome to schedule appointments.
Q. When should I arrive for my Executive Health physical?
A. Once your appointment is set, you will be given specific instructions
on what to do and where to go on the day of your physical. A chaperone
will accompany you through the hospital should you have multiple appointments
with various specialists.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Normal attire is fine for your physical.
Q. What do I need to bring with me?
A. You need not bring anything with you.
Q. Can I eat the night before an appointment?
A. You will be instructed on what to eat or not eat, depending on the
testing that will be performed.
Q. How do I get to Beth Israel?
A. Beth Israel is located on First
Avenue at 16th Street in Manhattan. If car service is needed, it can
be requested at the time you make your appointment.
Q. Where can I stay in New York City?
A. Beth Israel offers executives scheduled for a physical an overnight
stay in our deluxe
suites, located in the hospital, First Avenue and 16th Street.
Q. When should I expect the formal report of my evaluation?
A. A formal report, with a CD/flash drive, including a copy of your scans,
will be mailed to you within two weeks of your physical.
Q. Does the Executive Health Program conflict with my primary
care physician?
A. The Executive Health Program complements your regular visits to your
primary care physician (PCP). We advise you to follow up with your current
PCP after your Executive Health physical, and if you wish, we will send
your doctor a complete report of your exam. You also have the option to
see one of our specialty physicians within the Continuum network for follow-up
care.
Q. Can I schedule additional consultations with Beth Israel
physicians through the Executive Health Program?
A. Yes. Our network will facilitate scheduling if requested and/or necessary.
