	The Long Island College Hospital Department of Dentistry
	The Long Island College Hospital Department of Dentistry provides high quality dental care to the community it serves. As a department of The Long Island College Hospital, we have the expertise and facilities to treat a wide variety of patients. In 1989 we opened our state of the art, ten chair, dental suite. Our dedicated voluntary and full time attending staff offer a wide range of dental services. In conjunction with the Lamm Institute children with developmental disabilities receive high quality dental care. The Implant Dentistry Center , staffed by world renowned clinicians, brings cutting edge services at a reduced cost to our patients, as well as educational opportunities to the profession. The operating room has a fully equipped dental suite as does the Emergency Room. We have several offsite facilities in the community, including one in the Cobble Hill Nursing Home. Special Patient Care Center An integral part of the Department of Dentistry. The mission of the Special Patient Care Center is to provide the highest quality dental care to physically and mentally challenged patients. In conjunction with the Lamm Institute we provide a full range of dental and oral maxillofacial services to patients with Down's Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsey, Hemophilia, Von Willebrand's Disease and other medically compromising diseases. Healthy pediatric patients who present with behavior management problems are also treated in our center. All patients are assessed by our team of dental specialists. Many patients are treated on an outpatient basis in our state of the art dental facility. Those who require sedation or anesthesia for management are treated in our Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Ambulatory Surgery Center has the latest equipment to ensure the patient's comfort and safety.
