The Heritage Initiative was founded by Richard Friedman, MD, who is currently medical director. Its primary goal is to promote cultural sensitivity to the Jewish community at all Beth Israel inpatient and outpatient sites and provide services that will collaborate with Bikur Cholim.

Our Heritage Initiative features patient navigators who serve as a single point of contact throughout a patient's hospital stay, act as liaison with physicians and other medical staff, and provide patients with information about resources and support services available to the patient and their loved ones.
